On the way back from a Hokkaido trip, I made a stop in the Shiroishi area. I stopped by “G.G&Burg,” a quiet spot tucked into a residential neighborhood, for their hamburg curry before catching a bus to New Chitose Airport. Here’s a rundown of the Shiroishi area, so even the trip home can be part of the fun.

📌 What You’ll Learn in This Post
  • A first-hand report on the hamburg curry at G.G&Burg, Shiroishi’s hidden gourmet gem
  • How to get to New Chitose Airport on the Hokuto Kotsu Maruyama Line bus, and where to actually catch it
  • Fares, payment methods, and travel time (latest as of 2025)

① G.G&Burg: An Amazing Hamburg Curry Under 1,000 Yen, Hidden in a Shiroishi Neighborhood

G.G&Burg sits quietly in a residential neighborhood in Sapporo’s Shiroishi ward. Tourists almost never find their way here — it’s a hidden gem where locals go, run single-handedly by the owner.

It was good enough that I’d come back to Shiroishi just for this! Hamburg curry plus coffee for under 1,000 yen is an incredible deal. It’s a perfect stop before returning your rental car or while waiting for the airport bus.

② From Shiroishi to New Chitose Airport: The Hokuto Kotsu Maruyama Line Bus Is Cheap and Convenient

For travelers based near Guts Rent-a-Car’s Shiroishi branch, the Hokuto Kotsu Maruyama Line bus is the cheapest route to the airport. One thing to watch out for, though: the boarding spot is a bit tricky to find.

Hokuto Kotsu Maruyama Line bus stop

Watch for the boarding spot: airport-bound buses do not leave from the bus terminal. The correct stop is across the street, in front of “Sweet Decoration Nango” furniture store. Even locals often don’t know this, so give yourself extra time to find it.
