About My Outdoor Journey
My life has always been closely connected to sports, travel, and the outdoors. Over the years, I have explored many different activities and gained experience both in Japan and overseas.
Basketball
I played basketball for more than 10 years, from elementary school through adulthood. I also coached youth basketball and earned a Class B referee license in Japan. I once officiated at a national youth basketball tournament held at Yoyogi National Gymnasium in Tokyo.
Road Cycling
During university, I traveled by chromoly road bike and enjoyed everything from relaxed rides to challenging mountain passes. Cycling helped me discover the connection between landscapes, local communities, and travel.
Photography
I have more than 10 years of experience with DSLR photography and use a PENTAX K-5 II. I mainly photograph fishing trips, travel destinations, landscapes, and outdoor experiences for this blog and social media.
Climbing, Hiking, and Trail Running
I have been hiking for more than 10 years, mainly in Kyushu and the Japanese Alps. I have also completed an 80 km trail-running race and have experience in multi-pitch climbing, sport climbing, and bouldering.
Trout Fishing in Japan and Overseas
Trout fishing has become the center of my outdoor travels. I have fished throughout Kyushu, made six fishing trips to Hokkaido, and completed a long-awaited trout fishing journey through New Zealand in 2025.
Through this blog, I share firsthand fishing reports, local fishing rules and licenses, access information, techniques, gear, and practical advice for travelers who want to fish in Japan.
Outdoor Retail and Sports Training
I previously worked as an outdoor shop manager and also hold qualifications related to sports training. My experience includes nutrition, stretching, physical training, human resources, and graduate recruitment.
